Wai Hai Der,

I am Sean Prentis, an Indie, rookie game developer. The online alias I use the most is “SMP” or sometimes “Spastic”.

I use Game Maker, and have been for almost half a year, I’m still experimenting a lot and my knowledge of the software is expanding, but at the moment I still only use “Drag and Drop”. I’m starting to learn GML, but am still too busy and lazy to fully get into it. I have a whole bunch of gameplay ideas that i hope to work on in the near future. I am a fairly skilled spritist, and am totally capable of making sprites and art for my own games. I like to experiment and muck around with different gameplay concepts, usually for days on end just expanding on ideas and experiments, and from this I’ve come up with some pretty interesting ideas, and it’s really helped me become more accustomed to the way Game Maker works ^_^

What I’m currently working is a platform explorer, the art direction of the game is that everything is tiny, the player is only 2×2 pixels in size, as are the other objects. I’ve made pretty good progress on this game so-far that i started little over a week ago, from a concept i discovered while experimenting. I’ve got some pretty nice effects and little goodies going on, but I’m really trying to expand this game to give it vaster gameplay possibilities and objectives. As of yet i still have no story, but I would really like to have something intriguing and “touching” that will make this game unique. Stay tuned for updates and images of this game, and I will have a decent demo up pretty soon :)

 

About me

At the moment I live in The United States, Florida, and recently moved from Australia (I know right!?). I am 15, soon to be 16, and I am a Sophomore. I’m a pretty creative person, and enjoy the arts (Drawing, Music, Movies, ect) I play tennis quite seriously, and am sporty. I got into videogames when i was young, when I received a “Nintendo 64″ for Christmas. ever since then i have dreamt of games i wish existed, and now that I have the power to make my own games, I can put those dreams into reality! I like a lot of music, be it game music, orchestrated, or normal music, I love it. I listen to a lot of Indie music (stuff not many people have heard of) some of my favourite artists being; Sufjan Stevens, Daft Punk, Death Cab for Cutie, The Temper Trap, Noah and the Whale, Gomez, the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Seekae, Sigur Ros, Eskimo Joe, Tom Peddy and the Heartbreakers, Kyle Gabler (World of Goo music), and a little Linkin Park.

Some of my Favourite games are; Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You, Zelda, Super Smash Bros, Halo 3 ,Mirror’s Edge, SSX3, Jak X, Star Fox, The Sims, Mechwarrior 2, World of Goo, Garry’s Mod, Braid, Age of Empires, and many others I forget :S
